Investment Strategy

The Fund’s investments can be categorised into four types:

Growth Equity/Platforms:

Structured minority positions in relatively mature private companies that are looking for capital to expand, restructure operations or finance a significant acquisition. In addition, the Fund may also take control positions in new platforms that are rolling out a proven business model in a core, growth sector (eg, healthcare) or that could serve as the base for a ‘buy and build’ rollup.

Private Placements:

Investments in unlisted pre-IPO positions, typically founder allocations or private placements of restricted securities.

PIPEs:

Strategic minority blocks in small to mid size listed companies with stable, mature businesses. Strategic positions are entered either through the stock market or pre-negotiated secondaries or preferential issuance of equity.

Buy-outs:

Backing buy-outs of businesses either by the original promoter (from other investors) or by existing or new management (from the promoter or controlling business group); carveouts and spinoffs of non-core businesses from large conglomerates; public-to-privates of listed companies that would benefit from a period of private ownership to restructure/transform themselves; recapitalisations of financially (but not operationally) stressed companies.
